ALSTASAN SILVOX (Silver Hydrogen Peroxide based Biodegradable Floriculture Disinfectant) addresses the following areas of concern without causing harmful/toxic effects.

 

Method of application:

Regular treatment by Drench method:

A fair dilution of this disinfectant is drenched to the soil every 15-30 days. Helps in treating the following diseases of carnation farms:

  • Fusarium wilt, by Fusarium oxysporum causes the lower leaves to curl up with root and stem rot to follow
  • Fusarium stem rot, by Fusarium sp. identified by reddish-brown spots on the lower stem portions
  • Rhizoctonia solani infestation is seen as brown bordered lesions at the lower stem portions. The stems develop a dry outlook
  • Phytophthora sp. causes yellow withered leaves with browning of the nodes. Humid weather conditions accelerate the infection, known as Stem and root rot

Regular treatment by Spray method:

A solution of this disinfectant is sprayed on the plants once in every 7-15 days helps carnation flower farming by treating the following diseases:

  • Fusarium wilt, by Fusarium oxysporum causes the lower leaves to curl up with root and stem rot to follow
  • Fusarium stem rot, by Fusarium sp. identified by reddish-brown spots on the lower stem portions
  • Rust, by Uramyces dianthii first appear as green blisters whihc erupt brown fungal spores. It causes the stem to yellow and wilt, leading to death 
  • Red mites (Tetranychus urticae) feed on the leaves turning them to yellow and wilt. Plant vigour is lost and reduces the market yield
  • Thrips (Thrips tabaci) suck the sap from the leaves leaving them curled. The pests even cause brown streaks on the flowers reducing their market value

Regular treatment by Drip method:

This disinfectant is added to irrigation water and fed to the soil bed through a drip line. It is advised to repeat this process once in every 15 days. Helps in the treatment of the following diseases:

  • Botrytis blight/ Grey mold, by Botrytis cinerea, identified by light brown spots on the lower petals which gradually spread to other petals. The infected tissues have a gray fungal covering 

Soil Fumigation:

A solution of this disinfectant is applied uniformly on the moistened soil beds. Helps in the treatment of the following:

  • Butt rot, by Rhizoctonia solani, identified by yellow wilted leaves, followed by plant death. Rotting appears just underneath the soil level, with cottony light brown fungal mycelia on the rotten surfaces.
