ALSTASAN SILVOX (Silver Hydrogen Peroxide based Biodegradable Floriculture Disinfectant) addresses the following areas of concern without causing harmful/toxic effects.
Method of application:
Regular treatment by Drip method:
The disinfectant is added to irrigation water and fed to the soil bed through drip line during gerbera cultivation. It is advised to repeat this process once in every 15 days. Helps in the treatment of the following diseases:
- Thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis, Thrips tabaci) which causes foliage distortion, with silvery leaves, spotted with black faeces
- Root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne sp.) leading to gall formation on the roots, reducing plant life
- Botrytis blight, by Botrytis cinerea is identified by stretched brown spots on the petiole, with tanned flower petals. Yellowing of leaves with cottony fungal growth on the infected tissues
- Rhizoctonia crown rot, by Rhizoctonia solani accounts for soil line stem lesions, leading to wilted plants that die eventually
- Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe sp., characterized by white fungal patches on the leaves
- Pythium root rot, by Pythium sp., account for wilted plants
- Fusarium solani accounts for blackening of petioles
Regular treatment by Drench method:
A fair dilution of the disinfectant is made and the solution is drenched to each plant every 15-30 days. Helps in treating the following gerbera diseases:
- Root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne sp.) leading to gall formation on the roots, reducing plant life
- Rhizoctonia crown rot, by Rhizoctonia solani accounts for soil line stem lesions, leading to wilted plants that die eventually
- Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe sp., characterized by white fungal patches on the leaves
- Pythium root rot, by Pythium sp., account for wilted plants
- Fusarium solani accounts for blackening of petioles
Regular treatment by Spray method:
A solution of this disinfectant is sprayed on the plants once every 7-15 days helps in preventing the following diseases:
- Red mites (Tetranychus urticae) which feed on the leaves, turning leaves pale and withered. Plant vigour is lost, reducing market yield
- White Fly (Trialeurodos vaporariorum) causing plant distortion, discoloration, or silvering of leaves
- Powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe sp., characterized by white fungal patches on the leaves
- Botrytis blight, by Botrytis cinerea is identified by stretched brown spots on the petiole, with tanned flower petals. Yellowing of leaves with cottony fungal growth on the infected tissues
